We don't usually promote pre-packaged/pre-made foods, but this is a pretty good deal, especially now that the kids are home from school and Memorial Day celebrations are at hand. Chips with guacamole and salsa is a no fuss, low mess snack kids can make for themselves!!
Can't go wrong with pita chips and hummus. It's just one more, easy on the wallet, easy on the mess, vegan fast-food for the kids that will home for the next 2 months!
I'm loading up on as many of these as possible!! Aldi really comes through with their produce sales this week!!
Best sale on corn in the city!! Have you tried making creamed corn? If you don't know how, it's super easy!! Just grate the corn and then bring it to a simmer in a large pan. Simmer until it reaches your desired consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste, or just leave it without. When it's fresh like this, it delicious without any seasoning, raw too. If I turn my back while I'm grating the corn, my kids will eat it all up...lol!!
Dollar General Market beats Aldi this week on Cantaloupe and Watermelon!! And they've got the best sale on mangos in the city this week too!!
Great sale on cabbage! Even though summer's upon us, I would not turn down some cabbage soup. Try Macon Vegans recipe for cabbage soup and just substitute the red for green! Have you tried our Raw Zucchini Noodles with Avocado Cilantro Sauce?
Good sale on organic haas avocados this week at Fresh Market. They also come through with their bulk sales, this week on Macadamia Nuts! Might not be a bad idea to add some macadamia nuts to Macon Vegans' NO BAKE Nut Bars!
$1/lb on organic potatoes...pretty good sale. You could try our Irish Style Baked Potatoes.
There's also a pretty good sale on peaches and asparagus at Kroger this week. Try grilling them both. Delicious!!
And it looks like strawberry season is in full effect because almost every store has a great on strawberries right now!
Some people complain that Publix is too expensive, but I disagree. They have great sales all the time, and as long as you're a smart shopper, you can save money at Publix. They are KILLIN' it this week with their BOGO sales!!
Definitely worth putting Publix on your shopping route this week!!
Remember to shop smart. Go for the BOGO's and sales only! Also remember to check their clearance section. Much of the time, Publix has great clearance items!!

Not a bad sale on red potatoes this week. Pair it up with some turnips, and try out this Macon Vegans recipe for sautéed turnips and red potatoes, but rather than sautéing, try grilling!
Great sale on cucumbers this week at Shopper's Value Foods. Try a simple cucumber noodle salad. Squeeze some lemon juice in a bowl and add a spoonful of cashew butter, grated garlic, with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Add some thinly sliced sweet vidalia onions, fresh dill and parsley to taste. Add cucumber noodles and coat them well in the sauce. Delicious!
